Adventure #132: Abucha 2 (Hirafu)

Back to Japanese cuisine today at Abucha 2 which serves Izakaya or Japanese tapas.  Basically, that means it serves all type of Japanese food from sushi to yakitori to ramen to shabu-shabu to......  I guess for this reason, it is one of the most popular restaurants in Hirafu village.  It seems like everyone who has been to Hirafu knows about this place and when we were there we overhead the waitress telling someone that they were fully booked out to January.

We ordered sukiyaki with Hokkaido beef.

Sukiyaki with udon and eggs added to it.  I quite liked the sweet sukiyaki soup base but this is not G's cup of tea.....

Rice with minced meat topped with an egg.  This was quite tasty.

Fried chicken wing stuffed with "dumpling". I ordered this for the little one since she likes both fried chicken wing and fried dumpling but unfortunately she didn't quite like this variant.

The food quality is not excellent, just OK. Thus, this place is definitely overated.  However, if you have a large party with different preferences, this would be a good option.
