Adventure#188: Shiro

I used to visit Shiro often when it was next to Lane Crawford in Pacific Place. The sushi rice set lunches there were really good. Since Lane Crawford closed down, I have not seen another Shiro anywhere until we came across it at Hysan Place.

Our Saturday or Sunday lunch tend to be sushi at Sen-ryo.  So, the older one was a little apprehensive when we suggested lunch at Shiro instead.

The decor is very contemporary and we were seated at the very comfortable crescent sofa seat with a window view.

I had salmon and sea urchin with sushi rice.  Excellent!

Both G and the older one had the chopped tuna rice set. The older one was extremely satisfied with her choice and a total convert now.

The little one is not into raw food, so a standard ramen for her.

We also ordered the steam egg which all agreed was not as good as that in Sen-Ryo.

G wanted to try the sesame ice cream and he wasn't disappointed.

The quality of the a la carte dishes, especially the sushi rice are much better than their sushi. So, if you just want a quick meal of sushi, Sen-Ryo is still the better choice.
