Adventure #6: 滿江紅小甜甜

A couple of days ago, I found on the shelf a food book I bought a while back. This book lists all the good eateries (in the writer's opinion) where one can eat good food for less than $100 per head - he calls them 平民飯店。One more reference book for me.

This week G was away in Korea visiting HQ. I assumed he will be wined and dined, so a perfect opportunity to try the simpler and cheaper places recommended in this book. Initially I chose a place in North Point where one of the famous dishes is 豬油撈. Unfortunately, it was closed for renovation. So, we went to 滿江紅小甜甜instead. This is a funny eatery combining a Sichuan restaurant and a dessert shop.

For our mains, we ordered Beef in Spicy Hotpot (very small), a sour fish soup and a baked clams. All yummy.

The 酸菜魚湯 is very good

So is the baked clams, as good as the stir-fried clams from Yu Wo

To finish off the meal, we had 杏仁蛋白 and 湯圓 for dessert。The former is terrible - too thick but the later is very good - 夠薑!
