Adventure #9: BO Innovation

16 September was our 16th wedding anniversary. So, we went for dinner by ourselves.  We wanted to have something formal but didn't want something too heavy (still on the diet).  In the end, we settled for BO Innovation, an Asian molecular cuisine.  It is kind of the Chinese version of Fat Duck.

We chose from one of the three tasting menus.

Instead of bread, they served us Hong Kong style wafers 鹹的港式雞蛋仔 with 36-month Iberico ham and English mustard inside.  Nice but I think G preferred the sweet one.

Here are some of our 10 courses:

This is a puree of Chinese Century Egg and Pickled Ginger with dry ice - so you only eat the bubbles!

This is pan-fried Foie Gras with a preserved vegetable (梅菜) ice cream. I love the foie gras.....not too sure about the ice cream.....

This is one of their signature dish, Shanghai Xiao Long Pao 招牌小籠包.

For our mains, we had suckling pig with apple puree and peas.  Really good.  We were told that the pig was cooked under low heat for hours.  The meat was very tender and the skin - crackling!

After dessert which was pineapples in 3 ways, they gave us a basket of "oldies" goodies 懷舊糖果 - very "sweet".
