Adventure #61: Aun Kheng Lim (Ipoh)

One cannot leave Ipoh without trying its famous salt-baked chicken 鹽焗雞We had no more meals to spare but lucky for us, Aun Kheng Lim is a take-away only store!  So we drove pass, got ourselves a chicken and off we went to Penang.




The chicken used is free range chicken.  After being rubbed with salt and pepper with slivers of tong kwai being inserted into the cavity, the chicken is then wrapped in grease proof paper and baked in custom-made woks filled with Australian rock salt.

The chicken is really tender.  At RM17 each, the chicken is not very big.  The kids devoured it in the car.  Must have tasted really good coz there wasn't much left for me and G!
Note to self - remember to buy more than 1 next time!!!
